Model Portfolios

AAII's four model portfolios are now a first-class destination in the app.

• Dividend Investing, Growth Investing, Stock Superstars, and VMQ are accessible directly from the portfolio dropdown in both the sidebar navigation and the portfolio selector
• Model Portfolios appear as a dedicated labeled section, clearly separated from your personal portfolios

Smarter Sidebar Navigation

The My Portfolio item in the left sidebar is now a dropdown that gives you direct access to everything in one click.

• Your personal portfolios are listed by type: My Portfolios and Brokerage Accounts (Plaid-connected)
• Model Portfolios section links directly to each AAII model portfolio
• Quick links to Manage Alerts and Manage Custom Views at the bottom of the dropdown

Custom Views Builder

You can now create and manage fully custom column layouts for your portfolio holdings table.

• Build your own views by selecting and arranging any combination of available data fields
• Choose which columns are visible, lock specific fields in place, and control export behavior
• Custom views are sorted alphabetically on the Manage Custom Views page for easy access
• Industry and Sector median columns are supported, even when some holdings don't have that data
• Text values like company names are displayed correctly and never misinterpreted as dates

Portfolio Analyzer: In-Place Refresh

Changing your investor type (Conservative, Moderate, or Aggressive) in the Asset Allocation Analyzer no longer reloads the entire page.

• The rest of the page stays visible while the analyzer section updates
• A loading spinner appears only over the analyzer card while new data is fetched

Bug Fixes

• $CASH and $BOND placeholder rows in the holdings table no longer show a clickable ticker link or "Add to Portfolio" button
• Various dark mode UI and portfolio chart display fixes
• Improved Plaid brokerage account sync reliability
• Portfolio holdings table on the detail page now updates immediately after returning from the Modify page — stale cached holdings are invalidated on every save, delete, or edit action
• Shares and cost-per-share on the Modify page now refresh in place after editing or deleting a transaction, without clearing the table
• Finish button in the Add Holdings modal no longer stays in a loading state indefinitely when two transactions are edited in quick succession
• Portfolio index page now shows a friendly empty state with a "Create Portfolio" prompt for users who have no portfolios
• Screen links on the dashboard homepage now navigate correctly using the screen name tag
• Screen links on the All Strategies page no longer open in a new tab

New Homepage (v2)

The dashboard home page has been rebuilt from the ground up with a cleaner, information-dense layout.

• Market indicators row at the top shows live prices and sparkline mini-charts for major market indexes
• Portfolio card displays your default portfolio's market value, daily change ($ and %), and cash position at a glance
• Article feed with author avatars, save-article buttons, and improved typography for easier scanning
• Two-column layout on large screens keeps markets and portfolio in view alongside your article feed
• Skeleton loading states throughout — no more blank sections while data loads
• Star icon next to your default/favorited portfolio name for quick identification

All Strategies: Tabbed Layout

The All Strategies page has been rebuilt around a tabbed data explorer.

• Five tabs: Performance, Characteristics, Grades, Risk & Return, and Yearly Performance
• Tabs are URL-driven — you can deep-link directly to any tab and the browser back button works correctly
• Sticky table headers keep column labels visible while scrolling through long lists
• Print and Export to Excel buttons on every tab let you capture exactly what's on screen
• Data dates shown in each tab heading so you always know how fresh the numbers are

Screen Power Rankings

A new Power Rankings section surfaces the best-performing screens across all categories.

• Screens are ranked by a composite of short- and long-term return metrics
• Each ranked entry shows a plain-language commentary explaining what drives its position
• Follow and unfollow screens directly from the rankings list

Guru Filter

• A Filter by Guru toggle on the All Strategies page filters the table down to only guru-inspired screens (screens derived from a named investor's methodology)
• When the filter is active, a Guru column appears across all tabs showing the strategy's source

Screens Index Improvements

• Duplicate portfolios and screens are now deduplicated in the My Screens list
• Ticker symbols link directly to the AAII stock detail page
• Portfolio names in the screens table link directly to the corresponding portfolio

Bug Fixes

• Fixed screens index showing duplicate entries when the same screen appeared in multiple portfolios

Smarter SSO Login

Signing in with an existing AAII account is now seamless.

• The login page automatically detects your Personify SSO session and signs you in without any extra steps
• A loading spinner replaces the login form while your session is being established — no confusing blank states
• Post-login redirect now correctly returns you to the page you were trying to access

Screen Detail: Passing Date Calendar

Viewing which companies pass a screen on a specific date is now more accurate.

• The calendar date picker on screen detail pages now defaults to the screen's data date instead of today, preventing lookups for dates with no data
• Passing companies table is now fetched reactively — changing the date updates the table automatically without a page reload
• Improved error handling when company data fails to load

Screen Detail: Anchor Navigation

• Section anchor links added to screen detail pages, making it easy to deep-link directly to Performance, Characteristics, or Passing Companies sections

Download Performance History

• A Download Performance History link has been added to the All Strategies page, allowing you to download the full performance history as an Excel file

Add Stocks to Portfolios

Managing your portfolios is now faster and more accessible throughout the app.

• New Add to Portfolio modal lets you add a stock to one or more portfolios in seconds
• Plus (+) actions are now available across tables, screens, stock lists, and articles
• Automatically detects if a ticker already exists in a portfolio
• Clear success and error feedback when adding holdings

You can now act on investment ideas wherever you discover them.

AI Chat Enhancements (Ask James)

Ask James is now more discoverable, more helpful, and easier to use.

• New floating Ask James button available throughout the app
• Smart chat bubble suggests example questions to help you get started
• Example questions are tailored to real portfolio and grade use cases
• Improved chat UI with icon avatars and cleaner message grouping
• Better handling of stock and screen links inside chat responses

You can still ask questions directly about your data using natural language, such as:

• What is the Value Grade of AMZN?
• What is the Growth Grade of AMZN?
• What is the Momentum Grade of AMZN?
• List all of my portfolios.
• Show the holdings in my portfolio.
• What is the total value of my portfolio?
• Which stocks in my portfolio have the highest Value Grade?
• Do I own AMZN in any of my portfolios?
• Which stocks in my portfolio have a Momentum Grade of A or B?

You should also notice faster responses and a smoother overall experience when querying your data.

Article Page Updates

Reading and interacting with articles is now more powerful.

• Refreshed article layout with improved spacing, typography, and readability
• Better mobile and tablet presentation for long-form content
• Inline stock tickers now support Add to Portfolio actions
• Improved handling of related content and navigation between articles

These updates make it easier to read, analyze, and act on ideas directly from articles.

Share Articles

You can now easily share articles with others.

• New Share action available on article pages
• Quickly copy a link or share through your device’s native sharing options
• Improved URL handling for consistent previews when shared

Sharing insights from the Investor Hub is now faster and more flexible.

Mobile Optimizations

The Investor Hub experience on mobile devices has been significantly improved.

• Optimized dashboard layouts for phones and tablets
• Improved spacing, typography, and touch targets across widgets
• Horizontal scrolling for Market Summary on mobile
• Reduced layout shifts and unnecessary reflows
• Faster interactions on slower or constrained networks

These changes make it easier to monitor portfolios and explore ideas on the go.

Charts & Data Visualizations

Charts across the dashboard are now more reliable and easier to use.

Install as an App

You can install the AAII Investor Hub as a standalone app for a faster, native app-like experience.

• Desktop: Look for the install icon in your browser’s address bar or use the in-app install prompt
• Mobile: Use your browser’s Add to Home Screen option
• Offline Support: Key resources are cached so pages load instantly on repeat visits
• Automatic Updates: When we release updates, you’ll be prompted to refresh and get the latest version

Screen Detail Pages

You can now view stock screen details directly within the dashboard instead of leaving the site.

• Browse complete screen methodology and selection criteria
• See all companies that currently pass each screen
• Compare historical screen performance against the S&P 500
• Discover related screens based on similar strategies
• Navigate seamlessly between your saved screens and individual screen details

Faster Page Loading

We’ve continued improving how pages load throughout the dashboard.

• Instant Navigation: Previously visited pages load immediately from cache
• Background Refresh: Data updates quietly without interrupting your workflow
• Smarter Data Fetching: Duplicate requests are automatically avoided
